Cracker Candy
Saltine crackers
2 sticks butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup chocolate chips morsels
1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/4 cup chopped peppermint candy or candy canes (optional)
Aluminum foil
Line a jelly roll pan with aluminum foil. Layer saltine crackers on foil. On medium heat boil butter and sugar for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Pour over crackers. Bake at 350° °F for 15 minutes in a preheated oven. Melt the chocolate chip morsels on the stove. Spreads melt chocolate on top of crackers. Add chopped nuts or peppermint candy. Cool in the refrigerator. Break into pieces and enjoy.
Yield: About 24 pieces
